Although our Log Cabin comes fully equipped with all that you require from a self catering accommodation and including the local supermarket located just a few hundred metres, we still recommend that you experience the local cuisine. There are a handful of quality family restaurants available just a short walk from the door and below are just a few that you might like to consider when making your selection.

Restaurant Pipola - A popular dining restaurant located in the heart of Akaslompolo that is just a five minute walk from our Log Cabin, The Restaurant Pipola specialises in Lappish specialities and serves up enjoyable meals in pleasant surroundings. Their Creamy Salmon Soup is a must and the Peppered Steak comes highly recommended. Also, they hold a good variety of wines to complement your chosen meal.

Julli's Bar & Restaurant - In essence, Julli's is a very welcoming family pub style bar and restaurant where you can simply drop in for drinks or combine them with some rather delicious food choices. Their menu includes a selection of Hearty Burgers (Ideal after an activity packed day out), a variety of Pizzas and even an a la carte range of dishes. It is ideally located in Akaslompolo village just a five minute walk from our Log Cabin.

Aurora Restaurant Poro - For traditional Lappish cuisine, The Northern Lights Restaurant "Poro" is a must. Its Finnish name is "Reindeer" and this is well featured on the menu as are roasts, fillets, tenderloins and a selection of fish dishes in different forms. All of their meals are prepared using traditional raw materials and Restaurant Poro is considered to be the best Lappish food serving restaurant in the area. Its location is slight up in the hills and approximately a ten to fifteen minute walk from our Log Cabin.
